Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney is taking her campaign for re-election on the road and coming to Dallas.
According to Team Cheney, the congresswoman “has been a proven constitutional conservative and an advocate for a strong America. In Congress, she is a fighter who works for Wyoming to reduce the size of government and roll back harmful regulations that hurt our state’s economy.”
The Republican Congresswoman has faced some harsh critics from within her party for recent Congressional votes and comments ranging from the events on Jan. 6 to criticism of former President Donald Trump.
The Lone Star State has been kind to Cheney’s campaigns in the past. According to OpenSecrets, a website that lists campaign contributions, in 2020, she received $137,350 from Texas donors, with $66,050 of that total coming from Dallas. She is once again looking for support in Texas.
On Oct. 18, Cheney will host a campaign fundraising reception with some big republican names set to speak. Most notable is former President George W. Bush, who will be the event’s special guest.
Other republicans slated to be in attendance are Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Ray L. Hunt, Mike Meece, Karl Rove, and Joe Straus, to name a few.
While the location of the gathering is not public; but will be disclosed upon registering. There are three levels of pricing for attending. Attendee is $1,000, Co-Host is $2,900, and Chairman is $5,800. Co-Hosts and Chairman levels include a photo opportunity with Cheney.
She is Wyoming’s lone member of Congress and was first elected in 2016. She currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee.
Cheney and her husband Phil Perry have five children and live in Wilson, Wyoming. She is also the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
