Dickies Arena in Fort Worth will be the next recipient of the Visit Fort Worth Hospitality Award.
Visit Fort Worth announced on November 8 in a press release that the arena will be the recipient of its hospitality award for helping to “transform the local sports and music industries.”
The award will be presented to Dickies Arena next year during Visit Fort Worth’s 11th annual meeting on February 15. The annual award is given to individuals or entities that have made “significant contributions to developing, marketing and delivering visitor experiences for Fort Worth’s travel, tourism and hospitality industry.”
Bob Jameson, president and CEO of Visit Fort Worth, said in the press release that the arena has “changed the landscape of Fort Worth.”
“It has put our city on the map as a destination for major concerts and sporting events,” said Jameson. “We are thrilled to honor Dickies Arena for all its contributions to our city and the hospitality industry.”
Matt Homan, president and general manager of Dickies Arena, described the accolade as a tremendous honor.
“The success of Dickies Arena is without a doubt due to the people of Fort Worth and their unwavering support since its inception,” said Homan, per the release.
“We have hosted more than 530 events and entertained close to three million people, and we continue to look forward to going bigger and better. And none of our achievements would be possible without the dedicated and incredible staff of more than 120 full-time and 1600+ part-time team members of Trail Drive Management Corp,” Homan said.
The award will be presented by Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP. The keynote speaker for the event will be revealed later this year.
Additionally, the Fort Worth Chamber announced in August that Trail Drive Management, the non-profit organization in charge of the arena’s management and operations, would receive the 2023 Vandergriff Award, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
Dickies Arena stands as one of the top venues in the world based on capacity and gross income, per Billboard magazine and previously reported by The Dallas Express.
