Ashwin Reddy and Isha Vedire signed a franchise deal to open 20 Rise Southern Biscuits shops in Dallas, and it appears one of them may be slated for Dallas’ Victory Park neighborhood.
According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, a Rise Southern Biscuits store is slated to open along Victory Park Lane between Nowitzki Way and Museum Way.
Construction, which bears a projected cost of $400,000, is scheduled to commence at the end of November. A construction completion date is set for the end of January.
The build appears to be going forward despite the City of Dallas’ lengthy permitting delays on commercial projects. Such delays have been periodic under City Manager T.C. Broadnax, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
Bethesda, Maryland-based GTM Architects has been selected as the design firm for the new restaurant.
The new Rise Southern Biscuits location will join a handful of food and drink spots in the area northwest of Downtown Dallas anchored by the American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars.
“We sense a tremendous opportunity to grow this brand in the state of Texas over the next 5 to 10 years with multiple locations in Dallas metro and beyond,” Reddy told QSR Magazine in an interview last year when the franchise deal was first announced.
The franchisees, Reddy and Vedire, are married and have a background that includes building an outpatient behavioral practice that they scaled to “over 30 providers with seven locations and annual revenue over $15 million,” according to QSR’s report.
“While our backgrounds are medicine and engineering, our love and passion are business, entrepreneurship, and building and growing companies,” Reddy shared with the publication.
Rise Southern Biscuits, which was founded in Durham, North Carolina, in 2012, serves scratch-made buttermilk biscuits and chicken sandwiches, using no wait staff, during breakfast and lunch hours. The concept has grown to 19 locations across North Carolina, Kansas, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, and California.
Additional menu offerings include cheddar tots, Counter Culture Coffee, and donuts with flavors such as maple bacon and famed North Caroline soft drink Cheerwine.
