A recent report by real estate news outlet CandysDirt.com is putting a spotlight on Highland Village, a small lakefront community in southern Denton County.

Founded in 1963, Highland Village started off as a small rural community on the shores of Lewisville Lake. Over the decades, it transformed into a suburban city known for its scenery and quality of life.

Three homes that are currently on sale in Highland Village were given some profile by CandysDirt.com.

A four-bedroom, three-bath house at 3223 Newhaven Dr. is going for $555,000. It spans 2,959 square feet.

“It’s extremely close to all the great shopping in Highland Village and within walking distance to the standout schools this area has to offer. Also, there are plenty of parks, trails, and other amenities just down the street,” said listing agent Marilyn Newland, a realtor with Keller Williams Realty, according to CandysDirt.

Another four-bedroom, three-bath property is on offer at 935 Crown Ct. in the Highland Shores neighborhood. The asking price for the 3,102-square-foot house is $620,000.

“I really like the house because it has so much space and the rooms are large with an abundance of closets,” said Berkshire Hathaway listing agent Marshall Embry, per CandysDirt. “Also, the whole home is very bright and open. Also, the backyard is an incredible oasis with a deck and pool and lots of room to play. It’s just perfect.”

Listing agent Jason Clay Haugen of eXp Realty LLC touted the home at 218 Scenic Dr. and its surrounding neighborhood.

“I don’t think there another area like this in the state,” said Haugen, according to CandysDirt. “There’s a ton of topography, trees, hills, valleys and so much to explore here. Also, the neighborhood also showcases a variety of unique homes. This is really one of DFW’s best-kept secrets.”

The house is a four-bedroom, three-bath that comes in at 2,887 square feet. The asking price is currently $745,000.
