Paul Levesque, also known as WWE superstar Triple H, had an issue regarding his heart, which resulted in a necessary procedure. WWE released a statement two days ago with an update on Levesque’s health.
“Paul Levesque, a.k.a. Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week at Yale New Haven Hospital following a cardiac event,” the statement said. “The episode was caused by a genetic heart issue and Paul is expected to make a full recovery.”
Levesque is best known as his in-ring character, Triple H, where fans saw his character evolve from a bowing arrogant French man into “The Game” and “Cerebral Assassin,” who lugged around a slug hammer and gave out the pedigree to win many of his matches.
More recently, he has taken a role behind the scenes as WWE Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development. He was the brainpower behind the success of the NXT brand, which houses new talents. The show broadcasts Tuesdays on USA Network.
Last year marked 25 years that Levesque has been in the WWE. He is a Hall of Famer alongside his other Degeneration X members.
During the pandemic, he had a match with Randy Orton that barely got started before “The Fiend” Bray Watt stopped it with his presence. Levesque also helped on commentary alongside WWE commentator Michael Cole on Smackdown while in the WWE Thunderdome without fans attending.
WWE has welcomed fans back full-time since July of this year.
