One of Dallas’ biggest fall festivals, Autumn at the Arboretum, is just around the corner. The annual celebration is set to begin Sept. 18 and runs through Oct. 31.
This year’s 16th annual festival held at Dallas’ Botanical Gardens is themed “Bugtopia.” Each year the festival celebrates the fall season with roughly 90,000 pumpkins, squashes and gourds on display. The bright orange pumpkins are used to create a village of houses, lined lighted walkways, fall scenes and more. The pumpkins and gourds are brought in from the West Texas town of Floydada.
“Autumn at the Arboretum comes alive with larger-than-life insect topiaries, fascinatingly bugged-out pumpkin houses, a maze for younger visitors and even an 18-foot-long dragonfly-perfect for all those social media moments,” Jim Ryan, the Dallas Arboretum Board Chairman, shared.
The Autumn at the Arboretum event spans across more than 60 acres of the botanical gardens and also features more than 100,000 flowers on display, face painting for kids and adults, a petting zoo, a maze made out of hay bales and live music every weekend. Autumn at the Arboretum will also features cooking classes, terrarium classes and demos. The fall event is sponsored by Reliant.

Autumn at the Arboretum also caters to adults. Beyond the fall sights to see, the festival this year will feature Wine Down Wednesday, a Chef-tastic Cooking Series, seasonal tastings and more.
Tickets for the event must be reserved in advance.
