Dallas police have arrested a man who now faces murder charges in connection with the body found in a construction pit in East Oak Cliff last month.

Police were called in the afternoon of July 24 after the body of 38-year-old Terence Turner was found by someone in a hole that had been dug for construction. The site was located in the 1200 block of Cedar Haven Avenue, near Morrell Avenue and South Denley Drive.

Turner’s death was a mystery to investigators who couldn’t explain the cause of the 38-year-old’s death. However, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office ruled last week that Turner was a victim of homicide.

Dallas police have arrested Byron Demond Arnold, 43, in connection with Turner’s death, and charged him with murder.

The police arrested Arnold on Thursday but did not immediately say how the 43-year-old was connected to the death of Turner. Attempts to reach Arnold’s attorney for comments have not been successful.

Arnold is currently held in custody as of Tuesday, and his bail has been set at $600,000. According to jail records, Arnold also faces one count of aggravated assault. Details of his assault charge have not been released.
