Inside Texas is joining the On3 College Sports Network, expanding the emerging On3 Media Network and expanding coverage for Longhorns fans.
Inside Texas is the University of Texas’ oldest independent source of sports coverage. It was founded in 1985 under the leadership of award-winning journalist Robert Heard. Heard led Inside Texas through several innovations such as on-demand phone, fax updates, and one of the very first digital recruiting efforts in the early days of the Internet.
Eric Nahiln, managing partner of Inside Texas mentions: “When Shannon and our team first started talking about Inside Texas and On3, it was clear aligning our resources would accelerate our products, together. Our subscribers are the real winners here. Nothing changes with our coverage, our community, and our brand personality, but the richness of resources of the new On3 platform will be the best in the business. We take pride in always working to increase the value of an IT subscription, and that’s exactly what we’re doing with this move.”
The affiliation with On3 brings InsideTexas subscribers significant enhancements to the platform, including national-level recruiting analytics and constantly evolving news in all aspects. The move adds an early and fundamental presence for Texas fans in On3’s coverage area in what is becoming the most innovative digital sports platform in the country. Inside Texas’ ownership, editorial team, and commitment to covering Longhorns sports remain unchanged.
Shannon Terry, On3 Chief Executive Officer explains: “I have tremendous respect for the Inside Texas editorial team. That’s an All-Star group of reporters that brings its A-game every day. Inside Texas represents the quality and caliber of the fan sites On3 will continue to add to its family. Simply put, this is the most exciting advancement in Longhorn sports coverage in more than a decade.”
