The Dallas Independent School District is providing free internet to aid students’ learning when at home.
Dallas ISD families who do not have reliable home internet can apply for high-speed internet until the application process closes on Aug. 31. Wired home internet for the 2021-2022 school year is provided at no cost for families who qualify.
Home connectivity is being offered to support student learning at home. To apply and receive home connectivity, your child must be enrolled in Dallas ISD and have a valid student ID.
The home internet connection is free and is offered by AT&T or Spectrum.
After the application is reviewed and approved, an internet provider will contact you to schedule installation. The process generally takes up to 14 days.
While some district families have hotspots, the free home internet connection replaces the hotspot. The home connection is wired and more reliable, which aids student learning by being more consistent.
The free internet has unlimited usage with no data caps or speed throttling, which allows it to be used by multiple users.
The internet equipment must be returned at the end of the school year unless the students are taking summer school classes.
