Reggie Bush II is a jack-of-all-trades football player from Frisco Independence. While 5A running backs often find themselves returning kickoffs for their schools, it’s rare to see one play in the backfield, return kicks, and also kick.
Bush is a “do whatever is needed” type of player, and has his junior tape to prove it. The Baylor Bears will be getting a versatile back in this recruit.
Bush only held offers from 4 schools prior to Baylor, and it did not take long for him to commit, announcing for the Bears one day after being offered. He turned down offers from Tulane, Navy, Army, and Colorado State to remain close to home in Waco.
Bush has the build and speed of a wide out. He is listed as 6’1”, 175 lbs. Despite carrying the ball just 28 times during his junior campaign, Bush averaged nearly 10 yards per carry, running for 279 yards while scoring four touchdowns, including some as a kick returner. He is a scary sight in the open field and has proven to have solid hands and a good ability to get on blocks. Bush also served as kicker for Frisco Independence.
Baylor has the 26th ranked recruiting class for 2022 and the 5th best in the Big 12.
Bush and the Knights hope to improve upon last year’s result of a 5-5 record and a fourth-place finish in district. They were, however, able to win big against a 7-3 Wilson team in the first round of the playoffs.
