It stands out for its hybrid course offerings, ideal for students balancing career advancement and education.

The program offers concentrations in epidemiology and urban health, the latter being a one-of-a-kind offering in Texas.

Program instructors, many of whom hold positions in public health organizations around North Texas, bring practical public health insights to the classroom, integrating them with community-based projects for hands-on learning.

Students can also earn a master’s degree in athletic training. The two-year program, which is supposed to prepare students for certification exams, boasts a 95% first-time pass rate over the last three years, significantly higher than the national average.

“Throughout our 5 semesters of clinical experiences, we offer 26 weeks of clinical immersion during which students are focused on clinical experiences with minimal course work and no in-person class,” tweeted the program.

In the realm of exercise science, the department’s STEM-designated master’s program offers advanced training with a focus on healthier living through physical activity. Students gain practical experience and skills needed for a variety of clinically-oriented careers and doctoral studies.

Students also have the option to pursue a Ph.D. in kinesiology. The program explores a broad range of topics and employs both basic and clinical science approaches.
