Shohei Ohtani’s two-home run night led the Angels to an extra-innings win over the Rangers on Monday. Ezequiel Duran’s three-run homer in the second gave Texas a 3-0 lead, which grew to 5-1 by the end of the fourth inning. The Angels scored three in the fifth, and Ohtani’s first home run of the night tied the game at five in the seventh.

Neither team scored again until the 12th inning, when Ohtani and Chad Wallach each homered to give Los Angeles a four-run lead.

Josh Jung scored for Texas in the bottom of the inning, but Marcus Semien struck out with two runners on base to end the game.

Noteworthy: Texas loses for the third time in its last four games but maintains a 4.5-game lead in the AL West.

— Texas is 14-6 against the AL West this season.

— Jon Gray was scheduled to start Tuesday’s game, but a blister will force him to sit out. The team has yet to announce who will start in his place.
