More than 10,000 customers remain without power Monday morning after Sunday’s severe thunderstorms.

Utility provider Oncor said as of 8 a.m., it had 608 outages, impacting 11,531 customers.

Oncor, which serves 98 counties and 400 communities in Texas, posted a statement on its website about the situation.

“Oncor personnel are currently working to assess damages and restore power to communities impacted by severe thunderstorms that produced damaging wind gusts, large hail and frequent lightning on Sunday,” it says.

“Safety for employees and the public remains Oncor’s number one priority. Please use caution when going outside to assess damages around your property. If you see a downed power line, please stay away, keep pets and others away, and call 911 immediately. In addition to the downed line potentially being energized, anything touching the power line, such as a tree branch, could also be energized.”

The company asked customers to report outages in several ways.

“To report an outage, use the MyOncor app, text OUT to 66267, call 888-313-4747, or select “Report an Outage [on its website].”
