Frisco loses its first game of this series, snapping a three-game winning streak. Trevor Hauver’s two-run blast in the top of the fourth inning gave the RoughRiders a 3-2 lead, but Corpus Christi exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the inning to break the game open. Aaron Zavala and Liam Hicks also added RBIs in the loss.

Noteworthy: Jack Leiter (pitcher), Alex Speas (reliever), and Jax Biggers (defender) all received monthly awards from the Texas Rangers.

— Hauver, Hicks, and Luisangel Acuna each had two hits in Thursday’s loss.

— Starting pitcher Nick Krauth is 0-2 in his last four starts for Frisco.

— Hicks has now reached base in 13 of his last 14 games.

Texas Rangers (40-21, first in American League West)

Noteworthy: Texas holds a five-game lead over the Houston Astros in the AL West. Houston will come to town at the end of June.

— The Rangers and the Tampa Bay Rays, the two teams with the best records in the MLB, play a three-game set in Tampa this weekend. This meeting is the latest meeting in a season that the Rangers have been involved in a matchup of the top two teams in the league.

Dallas Stars (offseason)

Noteworthy: Dallas signed defenseman Alexander Petrovic to a one-year deal earlier this week. Petrovic spent last season with the club’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Texas Stars. He has spent much of his career in the AHL but has also played 263 games in the NHL, including six playoff games.
