Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie filed his paperwork to run for president on Tuesday, just hours before a scheduled town hall in New Hampshire.

Christie, 60, is the latest candidate to join the 2024 Republican primary.

He joins a race that already includes former President Donald Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, U.S. Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and radio host Larry Elder, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum also is considering a run.
