Ford Motor Company said Tuesday it is expanding a recall for 125,000 sports utility vehicles and trucks.

The Detroit automaker said engine failures may cause fires.

The update expands a July 2022 recall of 100,000 Ford Escape, Corsair, and Maverick trucks to include more models.

Ford said at least three vehicles have caught fire after getting the 2022 recall repairs.

In May, Ford recalled 175,500 Bronco SUVs because of an issue with their front seat belts.

Ford said it is working on a fix. It will mail letters to owners on June 12, with a second letter going out when a remedy is available.
