Jason Day has won the AT&T Byron Nelson for the second time in his career.
The win is the 13th of Day’s career and his first since the 2018 Wells Fargo Championship. He now has multiple victories in three different events: the World Golf Championships — Match Play (2014, 2016), the Farmers Insurance Open (2015, 2018), and the Byron Nelson (2010, 2023).
“It’s been a struggling few years, and to be able to go — five years, actually, since my last win, so to be able to get the win the way I played today was really special,” Day told CBS after his win. “I’m very pleased and happy with how things have progressed over the last couple years for me.”
Day entered the final round tied for second at -14, trailing Austin Eckroat and Zecheng Dou by two strokes. He shot -9 (62) in his final round — two strokes short of tying the event’s single-round record — to finish at -23.
He outlasted Eckroat and Si Woo Kim by one stroke to win the same event in which he brought home his first PGA win in 2010.
C.T. Pan finished fourth at -21, while Dallas’ Scottie Scheffler was among three tied for fifth at -20.
