This May, North Texas will have multiple races in multiple cities, including 5Ks, 10Ks, and a half-marathon.

Next weekend, on Sunday, May 14, there will be a Bagel Run in honor of Mother’s Day. “The Mother of All Runs” is being organized by the Jewish Community Center of Dallas at Northaven Road.

There will be a 5K, 10K, and a Kids K Run. Each race will be timed and take you through a scenic neighborhood in Dallas. Races start between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and each race will finish by 10:30 a.m.

Participants are welcome to walk or run. All participants will receive a goody bag, a shirt, and a finisher’s medal.

If you are up for a longer race, the Fiesta de Mayo Half Marathon takes place the following Saturday, May 20, in Irving. The event also hosts 5K and 10K. There will be trophies, cash prizes, and professional race photography. The race begins at Toyota Music Factory, and proceeds from the event will go toward benefiting the Irving Schools Foundation.

The Honor Conor 5K and Smile Mile is also taking place on May 20 in North Richland Hills. The run honors the life of Conor Kelly Gage. The race benefits The LV Project, an organization dedicated to ending the tragedy of drowning.

On Monday, May 29, there will be a Memorial Day 5K put on by the Fort Worth Runners Club. Additionally, there will be a free fun run for children. The race takes place at Trinity Park in Fort Worth, and registration for nonmembers is $12.

Camp Sweeney’s Play for the Day 5K & Festival is also on Memorial Day. The run takes place at Lake Highlands North Park in Dallas. There will be rides and games for children, a live band, and dancing at the festival.

So far, the event has raised over $45,000 in pledges for the camp.
