The Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s (DSO) summer Parks Concerts series begins May 29 and will perform at parks all around Dallas. The performances are free to the public and families.

Kim Noltemy, Ross Perot president & CEO of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, explained that the park series is a highlight of the DSO season. “It’s a joy to see the community come together to enjoy these performances, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share our love of music with everyone across the city,” she stated, per NBC.

Memorial Day signals the start of the series with a performance that includes patriotic music and fireworks on May 29 at Flag Pole Hill Park. The park concerts, including the first, will start at 8:15 p.m.

They will perform at Exall Park on June 1, Campbell Green Park on June 6, Kidd Springs Park on June 8, and close out the performances at Paul Quinn College on June 13.

If bad weather or rain prevents an outdoor performance from occurring, alternative indoor locations have been arranged. The series of park performances by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra has been ongoing for more than 25 years.

Coming up this May at DSO, there will be three performances of “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Movie in Concert” from May 19-21.

For events in June, “Nothin’ But the Blues” will explore the early music of the blues from June 23-25.

If you are looking for Fourth of July plans, the DSO will host “Dallas Winds / Star Spangled Spectacular”, including hot dogs, ice cream, and indoor fireworks.

For country music fans, Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts will perform an “unplugged” concert on July 13.

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s summer schedule is somewhat bare, but the season kicks off again in September with a packed schedule of performances every weekend and some during the week.
