Aero Technologies, a California-based semi-private charter jet service, has begun operating at Dallas Love Field Airport.

The company said it is building a new category to bridge the divide between private and commercial air travel, Aero vice president of commercial Sachin Doshi said, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Founded in 2014, Aero began operating in 2021. Doshi said the company is still gauging the needs of the Dallas community.

The company has just one jet at Dallas Love Field, a 16-seat, black Embraer EJR-135 jet that launched with a listing price of $15.2 million, according to Aviator Insider. The service has six Embraer jets in its fleet; five EJR jets and one Embraer Legacy 600.

Doshi said Aero is looking for customers “willing to pay a premium for better service.”

Aero has hubs in Los Angeles and San Francisco with service to Los Cabos and Aspen.

“Aspen and Cabo – the perfect balance of mountains and sea – were the most requested destinations by Dallasites, and already very popular among existing Guests. As our fleet grows, we will continue to lean on our Guests for feedback on where to whisk them away,” Aero CEO Uma Subramanian told The Dallas Express.

One-way tickets from Dallas to Los Cabos this summer run from $1,050 to $2,550, according to Aero’s website. Flights from Dallas to Aspen cost $1,000 to $2,100 each way.

The service includes a private terminal, no lines, first-class seats, artisanal snacks, an open bar, and a concierge team, per the company’s website, and tailors its offerings to the city where it’s basing its operations.

“We are currently partnering with brands that capture the essence of Aero in a uniquely Dallas way. In-flight, we are serving Sadelle’s beloved delicatessen fare. And on our inaugural flights, we are offering a special Jenni Kayne welcome gift,” Subramanian told The Dallas Express.

Subramanian said the company will soon roll out StarLink Wi-Fi on its flights, SpaceX’s satellite internet service, according to DMN.

“In aviation, you’ve got ultra-low-cost carriers, low-cost carriers, the mainline carriers and then it’s a big white space. There are people that really value the service experience that comes with a higher price,” the CEO said, per the DMN.

“They’re looking for something that is more elevated than what they would get at the major airlines,” Doshi added.

The company raised $65 million in 2022 and is valued at $300 million, according to Dallas Innovates.

“…[T]his product is radically better than the alternatives. You get 80 percent of the value of private travel for 20 percent of the cost,” Subramanian said, according to Robb Report.

Passengers of the charter service only need to arrive 15 to 30 minutes before a scheduled flight.

Aero will be one of three private jet services operating out of Dallas Love Field, joining JSX and RVR Aviation.

Subramanian said Dallas Love Field was the carrier’s top choice due to its central location.

“Dallas is so great because it’s literally in the middle,” the CEO said, according to the DMN.

“It opens up a whole range of possibilities that you don’t have on the West Coast.”

Aero’s flights to Los Cabos run twice a week, with plans to go up to three times a week. Its Aspen service will begin running twice a week on May 25 with plans to add additional flights, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
