Downtown Fort Worth is the home of ArtSpace111, an art gallery that invites creative individuals to interpret all that the contemporary space has to offer.

Established in 1980, ArtSpace111 is located on the outskirts of downtown Fort Worth. The gallery is dedicated to making contemporary art available to individuals of all ages.

“ArtSpace111 is the only gallery specializing in the exhibition of Contemporary Texas Art,” said Natalie Baldin, the marketing coordinator at ArtSpace111. “Its history, iconic building and renowned exhibitions have put it on the map.”

Twin brothers Daniel and Dennis Blagg established ArtSpace111, converting a historic 1911 building into artist studios and a small gallery space to support and celebrate the work of local artists. The studio has evolved into a 3,000-square-foot art gallery.

Built in 1911, the red brick building where ArtSpace111 is located was once a furniture warehouse. The train that runs behind the sculpture gardens would drop off furniture at the former furniture warehouse.

A fire threatened the brick-and-mortar in the 1950s, but the fire doors that still exist today saved the part of the building that ArtSpace111 currently fills.

Director Margery Gossett claimed the title of owner in 2007, where she commenced an exhibition schedule.

Showcasing talented Texan artists for over 40 years, ArtSpace111 is currently representing 34 artists’ work.

ArtSpace111 also serves as a wedding venue. It can host up to 225 people.

The only gallery specializing in Contemporary Texas Art, ArtSpace111 now has an exterior mural by Texas artist Emily Ding while the inside features three galleries and an Art-o-Mat machine.

The main gallery showcases a rotating exhibition calendar while the big gallery simultaneously features the represented artists’ work, and the Blagg Gallery shows off the talents of the founding Blagg brothers.

A “Solo Solo,” two-wall, exhibition space in the main gallery showcases up-and-coming Texas artists on its own schedule.

Fitness classes are provided once a month in the galleries and sculpture garden with ArtSpace111’s new initiative called “ArtFlow.”
