A Mississippi man was arrested on Friday after police found a “loaded quesadilla” hidden in his Taco Bell order during a traffic stop.
Officers of the Picayune Police Department Neighborhood Enhancement Team pulled over Olivia Neff around 12:30 p.m. on Friday for a traffic violation on East Canal Street. Also in the car was passenger Devin Mitchell, per the Picayune Police Department’s Facebook page.
Officers decided to conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle after one officer reportedly saw Mitchell put a gun into his Taco Bell bag, per the New York Post. During the search, officers found the handgun folded into the quesadilla that was in the Taco Bell bag.
In addition to finding the handgun, officers also found a “distribution amount” of methamphetamine, liquid heroin, and drug paraphernalia, according to the Picayune Police Department’s Facebook page.
As a result of the traffic stop, Mitchell is now facing multiple charges, including possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a weapon by a felon, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm, per the Picayune Police Department’s Facebook page.
Officers reportedly cited Neff for disregarding a traffic device, and she was released at the scene of the stop, per the Picayune Police Department’s Facebook page.
The Picayune Police Department finished its Facebook post in a lighthearted manner, writing “#tacoaboutnotcool.”
“We’re afraid that quesadilla’s last beef has been ground,” the department added in response to a user asking what happened to the Taco Bell order, per Fox 4 News.
Other users responded with jokes about “loaded quesadillas,” and “Glock-amole.”
Closer to home, drug and narcotic violations, as well as drug equipment violations, are up 9.1% year to date in Dallas compared to 2022, according to the City’s crime analytics dashboard. Weapons law violations are up 1.18%.
