Denton Police said 29-year-old Silvester Williams was arrested and charged with capital murder of multiple persons in a double homicide on March 23.

Officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Dallas Drive around 10 p.m., where they found two victims dead in a vehicle, according to the police report. Ronald Calvert Jr. and Breanna Dunn were later identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as the victims.

During the investigation, authorities found evidence linking Williams to the shooting. The evidence also indicated that Williams knew the victims.

“This evidence showed they knew one another, confirming this crime was not a random act of violence,” the Denton Police Department said to CBS News in an emailed statement.

Williams was taken into custody by the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force on Monday, April 3, in Lewisville, Texas. In a statement by the City of Denton, the City thanked everyone involved in the arrest.

“We would like to extend a thank you to the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force, consisting of Denton PD, the Denton County Sheriff’s Office, and Carrollton PD, for their assistance in taking this suspect into custody,” said the City of Denton Public Safety in a press release.

The police are asking anyone with additional information about the double homicide or Williams’ involvement to contact Detective Bearden at 940-349-7986. Individuals can also submit an anonymous tip to Denton County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-388-TIPS (8477).

Williams is being held in custody at the Denton County Jail.
