Dallas currently ranks 67th on the global scale of cities with buildings at and taller than 150 meters [492 feet], according to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. The city currently boasts 21 skyscrapers at or larger than 150 meters and seven that are 200 meters [656 feet] and above.

Bank of America Plaza is currently the tallest tower in Dallas, standing at 921 feet. This is followed by the Renaissance Tower, which is 886 feet tall.

The 75-story J.P Morgan Chase Tower in Houston is currently the tallest building in Texas, just over 1,002 feet tall.

However, the rank of the tallest tower will soon shift as a new building is under construction.

The construction of the new “supertall” tower, known as 98 Red River Street, was approved by the City of Austin in 2022, according to the publication Towers. The mixed-use hotel, office, and residential space will stand between 1,022 and 1,034 feet and will become the tallest tower in Texas upon completion.
