The Dallas Stars returned to the ice Thursday, while the Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Rangers had off days.

Here is what happened on the ice and behind the scenes.

NHL

Dallas Stars (43-21-14, tied for first in Central Division, tied for third in Western Conference)

Last Game: Stars 4, Philadelphia Flyers 1

Jason Robertson continued his historic season with his 44th and 45th goals as Dallas scored the game’s first four goals to beat Philadelphia on Thursday night. The Flyers scored late in the third period, but the Stars controlled the game from start to finish.

Noteworthy: Robertson adds to his single-season franchise record point total with his two goals. He now has 103 points this season (45 goals, 58 assists), good enough for the seventh-most in the NHL this season.

— Forward Roope Hintz did not play Thursday. The team says he is day-to-day with an injury to his lower body.

— Dallas plays Chicago on Friday and has lost five of the last six games to the Bulls despite dominating the series over the last 25 years. The Mavericks lost to the Bulls, 144-115, in December in Chicago.

— All-Star guard Kyrie Irving and four other players will sit out of the game. The Mavs said Friday that his foot injury would force him to the sidelines. Others out include guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (left ankle soreness), forward Josh Green (rest), forward Maxi Kleber (right hamstring injury) and center Christian Wood (rest). Guard Luka Doncic will play.
