Two people are dead after officers found a body at a popular bike shop located in Garland, according to police.

One person, whom police identified as 40-year-old James Owen Kencheloe of Mesquite, was found deceased in Don Johle’s Bike World on February 16, at approximately 9:06 a.m., according to a news release.

Officers responded to the shop, located at 5513 Broadway Blvd., after an employee called 911.

The employee said that when he arrived at the business, the doors were locked, but the internal metal gates were left open, police reported.

This caused the employee to become concerned, according to police.

Police said there was no sign of forced entry.

Upon entering the business, police found a deceased male who was subsequently identified as an employee.

After Garland officers found Kencheloe, a preliminary investigation was conducted, and officers began investigating his death as a homicide.

On Thursday evening, police determined that another employee, identified as 58-year-old Wesley Don-Johle of Rowlett, was allegedly involved in the homicide, police said.

The Garland SWAT unit arrived at the home of Johle to serve a felony warrant.

When officers entered the home, they discovered Johle lying lifeless from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Johle and Kencheloe apparently worked together at Don Johle’s Bike World. Garland police confirmed to The Dallas Express that Johle was not the owner of the bike shop.

“I believe his mother is the actual owner,” said Lieutenant Richard Maldonado, public information officer for the Garland Police Department.

Maldonado told The Dallas Express that detectives are not searching for anyone else involved in the incident, but the investigation is ongoing.
