Mardi Gras is a celebration like no other, and multiple Mardi Gras celebrations are happening across the DFW area.

Let’s Go Dancing

The Mardi Gras Salsa Social is a spicy free dance event for people who are looking to tune their dancing skills.

The social will be held at Celestial Beerworks located at 2530 Butler St., Dallas, TX 75235, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

People who attend will get a free dance lesson by Eddie Rivera at 6 p.m.

There is free parking on the street and at the Dart station area.

The event is hosted by November Project Dallas, which is a free fitness workout group that is open to people of all athletic abilities and backgrounds.

It is also hosted by Salsa at the Gardens, which is a group of people who enjoy Salsa dancing.

Have a Ball at Meyboom’s

The first-ever Meyboom’s Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball will be taken place Saturday, February 18, and will last from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The Meyboom’s Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball is a social meetup event that will feature a silent auction with rare wine, autographed Ranger’s memorabilia, Belgian beer gift baskets, and much more.

There will be a contest for best mask, and the winner will get a $100 cash prize.

At midnight there will be the big mask reveal.

Pre-sale tickets for the event are $10.

Sunday, February 19

The Cathedral of Hope will be hosting two special jazz and Mardi Gras-themed worship service on Sunday, February 19.

The first service begins at 8:30 a.m., and the second service begins at 10 a.m. and will feature special music from the Stockton Helbing New Orleans Band.

The service will also recognize the importance and significance of the religious aspect of Mardi Gras.

After the service, there will be Pancakes after the services in the Interfaith Peace Chapel.

The event is free to attend.

A Mardis Gras Fun Run

The 15th annual Good Space Dash for the Beads is an annual event that is a chip-timed 5k run, one-mile walk, and family festival that coincides with Mardi Gras.

The event will kick off at 9 a.m. on Sunday and will showcase a kid zone, music, food trucks, and adult beverages, including fresh Mimosas and craft beer.

The race course will begin on Davis near the Dash for the Beads festival and continues through Kessler Park before heading back to the festival grounds on Davis.

Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female runners across nine different age groups.

There will also be a raffle where people can bid on prizes such as trips and dinners, and services from a variety of Oak Cliff vendors.

Gumbo Cookoff

KNON 89.3 FM will be hosting its 20th Annual KNON Mardi Gras Gumbo Party Sunday at Poor Davids Pub.

The event will feature live music from JB and The Zydeco Band, beads given to event attendees, gumbo tasting, and competition.

The doors open at 3 p.m. for gumbo tasting, and live music will begin at 5 p.m.

Poor David’s Pub is located at 1313 Botham Jean Blvd in Dallas
