Elon Musk is looking to replace himself as Twitter CEO.

The billionaire businessman said on a video call at the World Government Summit in Dubai that he will find a new CEO “probably toward the end of this year,” NBC 5 DFW reported. 

Musk believes he needs to spend more time at the helm to stabilize Twitter before he can pass the company off to a new leader.

“I think I need to stabilize the organization and make sure it’s in a financial healthy place,” Musk said, according to NBC 5 DFW, in referencing the timing of his replacement.

“Twitter is still somewhat a startup in reverse. There’s work required here to get Twitter to sort of a stable position and to really build the engine of software engineering,” said Musk, per NBC 5 DFW.

He also said he wants Twitter to be a better reflection of varying world viewpoints, not just San Francisco, where the company is headquartered.

“I think that the general idea is just to reflect the values of the people as opposed to imposing the values of essentially San Francisco and Berkeley, which are so somewhat of a niche ideology as compared to the rest of the world,” Musk said, according to NBC 5 DFW.

“And, you know, Twitter was, I think, doing a little too much to impose a niche.”

He later jokingly tweeted that the new CEO for Twitter would be his pet Shiba Inu, Floki. 

Musk appears to be staying true to his word after conducting a Twitter poll on December 18 asking users if he should step down as CEO, in which 57.5% of the over 17 million votes said he should resign.

Later, Musk announced he would step down as CEO of Twitter “as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!”

In his tweet, Musk noted that when he does step down, he will “just run the software & server teams.”
