Mesquite continues to be a hot industrial market, as DFW as a whole remains the fastest-growing industrial market in the nation.
A business park in Mesquite has just acquired a tenant expected to bring 225 jobs.
RJW Logistics Group is moving into roughly 600,000 square feet of office space in Alcott Logistics Station, the $130 million industrial project located on East Scyene Road, according to The Dallas Morning News.
The Illinois-based company is the first to secure a spot at the location that Urban Logistics Realty built.
“Establishing an operational hub in Dallas supports our ability to more effectively meet the needs of our existing customer base and onboard new consumer packaged goods suppliers in a growing region,” RJW Logistics CEO Kevin Williamson said in a statement. “Centralized warehousing is a game changer for suppliers.”
“They win by reducing costs and inventory hold, while gaining efficiencies and improving scorecard performance,” he said. “We use sophisticated data and technology systems to determine which of our two regional hubs is most advantageous and cost-effective for the supplier.”
RJW currently has nine warehouses in the central United States, where it provides transportation and warehousing services for Walmart, Sam’s Club, Aldi, Kroger, Amazon, and Walgreens, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Mesquite has become a hotspot in the warehouse market, with developers looking east of Dallas to build massive industrial sites. Dallas-Fort Worth is the fastest-growing industrial market, with over 80 million square feet of buildings currently planned, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Alcott Logistics Station is one of Mesquite’s most significant projects and is the city’s second big project from Urban Logistics Realty. Over two million square feet of warehouse and shipping facilities are expected to be added to the project, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Urban Logistics Realty is also responsible for the Urban District 30 industrial park, a 980,000-square-foot industrial facility in Mesquite. The first phase of the project was sold to KKR.
