A Dallas-based soufflé restaurant is set to open a new location in Plano in 2023.

Rise is a local restaurant and wine bar that serves seasonal soufflés and other classic French-inspired cuisine. The website describes the restaurant as “an intimate salon de soufflé, wine bar, and bistro designed with French influence.”

Rise has operated locally for the past 15 years, becoming a staple of the Dallas community due to its unique menu and dining experience. Soon, Plano residents will get their own Rise restaurant.

“We are thrilled to announce that we will be joining the community in Plano,” CEO Chris Florczak told The Dallas Express in an email. “We know that many loyal guests have made the trip down to the Dallas location for years, so it only felt right to choose Plano as our next destination on the Dallas side of the metroplex.”

Rise’s new soufflé shop will be located in Plano at 2444 Preston Road on the northeast corner of W. Park Boulevard, according to a lease signed by company founder Hedda Gioia Dowd.

The first Rise Souffle shop opened off Lovers Lane and Inwood Road in Dallas during the 2008 financial crisis. Despite celebrating its grand opening during an economic downturn, Dowd remained confident that her soufflé-focused restaurant would one day be a big deal. She now believes this has become a reality.

“People talk to each other here. They look at each other. There’s a completely different culture,” suggested Dowd, following the Fort Worth location’s 2017 grand opening. “You don’t talk about it. You just see it happening.”

2023 is going to be a big year for the company, according to Dowd and Florczak.

Rise is set to open multiple locations in 2023, starting with a planned eatery in The Woodlands, followed by a shop in Tulsa, and, lastly, the opening of the Plano location.

“We are looking forward to serving the [Plano] neighborhood starting in the fall of 2023 and providing the experience everyone has come to expect,” Florczak told The Dallas Express.
