Frisco Heritage sophomore star Sriya Leesha Gourammagari walked away with the Class 5A Tennis Girls Singles state title, easily besting the Nederland’s Megan Do in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.

Gourammagari’s strengths and athleticism were clearly on display from the start as she won six of the first seven games. Gourammagari has long turned this into a season to remember, earning All-District honors and being named Girls District 9-5A MVP.

At the state tournament, the Lady Coyotes’ doubles team of Tamiya Lintz and Saundarya Vedulas also starred, claiming the Girls Doubles title by blitzing Highland Park’s Cambelle Henderson and Hayden Bethea 6-0, 6-2.

Heritage fans wasted little time celebrating the trio’s accomplishments.

“Saundarya Vedula / Tamiya Lintz UIL 5A state champions in girls doubles. First ever in the history of Frisco ISD. Leesha Gourammagari UIL 5A state champion in girls’ singles,” the team posted on its Twitter page.
