A 4-year-old Dallas girl is dead after an alleged dog attack in the southern part of the city on Saturday, WFAA reported.

Police responded to the attack around 8 a.m. in the 5600 block of Bluffman Drive, near Bonnie View Road and Simpson Stuart Road.

The dog reportedly bit the 4-year-old multiple times. Medics rushed the child to the hospital, but she later died due to her injuries, according to police.

Dallas Animal Services currently has possession of the animal. The breed of dog and circumstances around the attack have not been released, DPD said.

The investigation is ongoing.
