The man allegedly behind the February 10 shooting at an apartment complex building has been arrested.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, a 19-year-old was fatally shot. Officers had responded to an apartment complex in the 600 block of East Ash Lane that evening when they found someone in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transferred to a hospital in Grapevine; however, he succumbed to his wounds on February 11.

The 19-year-old who was killed has been identified as Lamonte Robert Watkins.

Now, The Dallas Morning News reported that the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Elijah Royal in connection with the shooting.

The charges Royal faces are unclear. It is also not known whether he is being represented by an attorney.

Additional information about the case is not yet available.
