Looking for a lawyer? The choices are abundant, but what constitutes a “good” lawyer from a “bad” one? How do you view their qualifications, experience, and accolades? Where do you start?

One website has a lengthy listing of local attorneys categorized by their areas of expertise. Super Lawyers “is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.”

To become a Super Lawyer, attorneys must be selected through a process that includes peer nominations, evaluations, and independent research.

Annually, Super Lawyers, which is a division of Thomson Reuters, releases their Top 100 attorneys. The 2021 listing for the Dallas/Fort Worth area was released on September 22 and includes legal professionals practicing in nearly every facet of law.

Super Lawyers provides an easy-to-use search engine to search for an attorney or law firm in the Dallas area.

While hiring an attorney is can be a substantial expense, Super Lawyers’ “Ask the Super Lawyers” section on the website allows the public to ask legal questions and get answers from the professionals for free.

When asked, “What should I do after suffering an oil or gas injury in Texas?” Dallas attorney Collen A. Clark penned a response.

Other issues discussed include animal bites, birth injuries, brain injuries, employment law, family law, motor vehicle accidents, personal injury, sexual abuse, taxes, and wrongful death.
