After closing due to a distemper outbreak — a highly contagious and potentially fatal disease in dogs — the SPCA of Texas has finally re-opened the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas for animal adoptions.
The center re-opened Thursday and has resumed normal adoption hours. Volunteering has also resumed. However, the shelter has announced it will not take in any new animals.
Due to a positive distemper outbreak in other locations, the following will remain closed until further notice.
