Living with constant threats against happiness and success, whether sexual harassment, cyber threats, bullying, or active shooter situations, creates an unhealthy and stressful workplace.

Help is available by developing team members and an organizational culture that creates positive habits and behaviors consistent with a healthy and safe workplace.

“You want to be able to identify a threat as early as possible, to prevent it, or keep it from happening,” said Brian Searcy, CEO of Paratus Group. “To do this, you need to have a process to identify, assess, predict, decide, and then act.”

To accomplish this, Searcy says, leaders need to use “learning opportunities” to develop their team members, and Situational Awareness enables you and your team to identify these “learning opportunities.” This learning process allows us to act “Left of Bang,” — which means being more prepared to make critical life and death decisions.

Partnering with the Paratus Group and adding the Situational Awareness program to Ovation LMS provides employee training, tools, and coursework for workplace safety, sexual harassment, discrimination, and more.

Together, the Paratus Group and Ovation LMS bring a unique approach to co-creating a Situational Awareness Program for organizations to improve compliance, health and wellness, and organizational performance.

Learning situational awareness is not like learning math or science, nor is it like following a recipe. The content must be understood and reinforced through coaching over an extended time.

Ten critical skills are necessary when developing their situational awareness, such as self-awareness, perception, perspective, active listening, critical thinking, learning agility, decisiveness, communication, humility, and empathy.
