The Dallas Independent School District has been working to provide students with meals over the holidays. The initiative provided food for students and families in need as students were on Holiday break.

Last week, the district distributed meals to students from twenty-two different high schools who rely on the food throughout the school week.

According to a report by FOX 4 News, one of the beneficiaries of the food distribution is Sandra Wright, who got meals at the Skyline High School distribution site. According to the report, the food she got was enough to last a week.

Wright told FOX 4 News that the food she received from the initiative would be a blessing for the children under her foster care.

The meals were given out daily from 9 am to 2 pm at various locations throughout the district for the entire winter break. This allowed children under the age of 18 receive free food even though schools were closed for the break.
