Garland police are seeking a 20-year-old man accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend on Saturday.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the 3200 Block of West Buckingham Road after receiving a call about a kidnapping, according to the Garland Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers interviewed a witness who told them they saw 17-year-old Yadhira Monserrat Medina being dragged into a vehicle against her will. The vehicle was described as a white Ford or GM pickup truck with tan or silver trim.

Police said the witness believed the suspect was 20-year-old David Emanuel Maldonado, Yadhira ’s ex-boyfriend. Authorities added that a third, unidentified person was driving the get-away vehicle.

Garland PD, with the assistance of the Texas Department of Public Safety, put out an Amber Alert for Yadhira on Sunday, July 3. The 17-year-old was found a few hours later and safely returned to her family.

Garland police are still looking for the suspected kidnapper. Maldonado is described as a Hispanic male who is approximately 5-feet-7-inches tall and around 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Authorities ask anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts to call 911 or 972-485-4840.
