A plane crashed near Fort Worth Meacham International Airport on June 7.

According to CBS 11, the Federal Aviation Administration said that the incident happened at around 2:15 p.m. after a single-engine Piper PA-28 experienced mechanical issues. The Fort Worth Fire Department reported that the crash occurred at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Northwest 36th Street, near the southwestern edge of the airport.

Authorities said that only one person was on board the plane — the pilot. The Fort Worth Fire Department, however, said that the pilot did not sustain any serious injuries after assessment at the hospital.

It is unclear where the plane departed from or where it was heading.

The FAA said that the investigation is ongoing; however, the incident poses no safety concerns for the public.
