Tragedy struck on Tuesday as the Lewisville Fire Department (LFD) responded to three separate fatal drowning incidents.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on April 26, the Little Elm Fire Department called for assistance from the Lewisville Fire Department to help with a potential drowning victim at Little Elm Park on Lake Lewisville.

The body of a 43-year-old woman was removed from the lake just after 6 p.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released her identity at this time.

A few hours later, around 7:40 p.m, the Lewisville Fire Department responded to another incident at the Sneaky Pete’s area near Lewisville Lake Park.

Wendell Ray Allgood Jr., a 25-year-old from McKinney, attempted to swim after a boat that had gotten away from him when he slipped under the water and did not resurface.

The LFD dive team found him in the water at 9 p.m., administered CPR, and transported the individual to the hospital. At 9:18 p.m., he was pronounced dead.

Earlier in the day, around 12:45 p.m., a woman reported that her 77-year-old husband had been fishing north of Lake Lewisville in Clear Creek when the riverbank he had been standing on gave way. The man fell into the water and, according to his wife, did not resurface.

Denton, Flower Mound, and Lewisville Fire Department crews searched the area but were unsuccessful due to muddy conditions, flooding, and access limitations. The search was called off for the night at 8 p.m. when it became too dark to continue.

The search continued from 9 a.m. on Wednesday until about 2:30 p.m., when the victim’s body was found approximately 100 yards from where he had vanished.

His name has also not been released at this time.
