OBITUARY
Jo Ann Evans
JULY 2, 1933 – JULY 8, 2021
Jo Ann Evans passed away on July 8, 2021, just days after her 88th birthday. She was the only child of Sam and Rosie Ventura and attended Woodrow Wilson High School and North Texas State University.
In 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Bill Evans, and moved to Anchorage, Alaska where Bill was stationed with the USAF. After Bill’s service was complete, they returned home to the East Dallas area where they spent the remainder of their lives.
Bill and Jo Ann were owners of the once popular Jo Jo’s Toy Store in Hillside Village and one of the founding families of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Jo Ann is predeceased by her parents, husband Bill and grandson Christopher. She is survived by her three sons, Sam, Mike (Judy), and Jim (Lisa); five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Due to Jo Ann’s request and continuing concerns over COVID, the burial service will be limited to immediate family members only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Altar Society.
