A man wanted in Harris County for allegedly killing his wife took his own life earlier week after Dallas police attempted to detain him.

On June 6, just after 10:30 a.m., U.S. Marshals located Lorenzo White, 55, on Bonnie View Road.

“The suspect, Lorenzo White, was located in Dallas, TX by U.S. Marshals. Marshals spotted the suspect’s vehicle, and officers with Dallas PD initiated a traffic stop,” tweeted Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonalez. “White refused to exit the vehicle and placed a gun to his head. Dallas PD SWAT team responded to the scene. After a short period of time, White shot himself and was pronounced deceased.”

Oliver Johnson, who lives down the street from where the incident occurred, was at home with his mother and witnessed the events at the scene.

“I was kind of scared because I have never seen something like this before,” said Johnson. “They were telling the guy to calmly walk with them. Slowly stretch your arms out. Everything was going to be ok.”

Harris County homicide investigators said White was the primary suspect in the murder of his ex-wife Lisa Daniel approximately 10 hours before. He allegedly broke into her residence and shot her several times, according to ABC13.

Earlier on June 6, at around 12:30 a.m., deputies arrived at the 9100 block of Saint Laurent Lane in Houston after receiving a 911 call from the woman’s 16-year-old son, who was reporting a break-in.

The teenager told the dispatcher that he suspected White, his ex-stepfather, was the intruder. As he was on the call, the boy heard multiple gunshots. Daniel was pronounced dead at the scene.

White allegedly broke in through the rear door, according to deputies, and had already left the residence before they arrived.

After the shooting, White reportedly called multiple family members and confessed to the murder.

Domestic violence calls had previously been made from the house, according to investigators.
