Dallas Police arrested a man on Thursday in connection with the hit-and-run that left a cyclist dead on Sunday.

According to the Dallas Police Department, officers arrested Kenneth Lloyd Connors, III, 29, on Thursday and charged him with Accident Involving Death. It is a Felony 2 offense.

The victim in the hit-and-run, Billy Watley, 45, was riding his bike southbound on Sunday morning on Kleberg Road in southeast Dallas when a white SUV struck him.

Images from a camera outside a residence show a person exiting the suspected vehicle after the crash. Without rendering aid to the cyclist, the person gets back into the car and drives off.

The victim’s family said police told them they had located the vehicle but could not give any more details as to how and where the vehicle was found.

A newly installed sign on Kleberg Rd. urges drivers to slow down.

Neighbors speaking with a local news outlet said a petition is circulating in the neighborhood to put speed bumps in the area.

Booked into the Dallas County jail, Connors is being held on a $100,000 bond.
