Hayley Nenadal is the new director for EarthxFilm and brings her extensive background in the filming field to the position.

Nenadal has experience working at the Mill Valley Film Festival, the Moutainfilm Festival, and at Industrial Light & Magic. Nenadal joined EarthxFilm four years ago after having a career with Sundance in Park, Utah, for ten years.

As director, Nenadal will be in charge of festival programming, operations, and consultations for film and documentary projects received by EarthX.

“The EarthxFilm Festival can change the way people think about the environment and the part each of us must play to ensure that it’s here and inhabitable for current and future generations,” she said in a press release.

With a career in documentary film, she said she has an attachment to environmental conservation. Her main hope is to strengthen the festival’s impact, worldwide reach, and artistic effect.

The new co-CEO of EarthxFilm, Dan Russell, supports Nendal’s mission and is confident that she will make large contributions to the festival.

“The EarthxFilm Festival is growing into a globally recognized home for conservation-minded documentarians to tell their stories,” Russell said. “Hayley Nendal’s film festival experience, documentary filmmaker relationships, and personal passion for the environment will continue building the influence and power of the EarthxFilm Festival.”

The festival’s theme for 2022 is the ‘Celebration of the Outdoors’. It will feature sixty to seventy long and short films.

EarthxFilm has opened spots for film submissions. Those who qualify will have from forty minutes to two hours in length for their documentary films.

In February, passes will be available for purchase with single-day, weekend, and single-movie passes.
