On Saturday, the National Hockey League announced that the Dallas Stars game against the Coyotes in Arizona has been postponed from its original January 2 date to an unspecified date later this season. The postponement is due to COVID-related issues affecting the Stars.

The Arizona game marks the sixth game in a row to be postponed. The last time the Stars took to the ice competitively was against the Minnesota Wild at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on December 20 in a 7-4 victory.

The Stars announced that all tickets for the postponed home games at American Airlines Center will be valid for the rescheduled dates when finalized.

In related news, the Stars also announced that on January 1, the club added Ty Dellandrea, Riley Damiani, and Rhett Gardner to the Taxi Squad forwards after they were recalled from the Texas Stars, Dallas’ top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Dellandrea, 21, has 12 points in 20 AHL games this season with Texas. He has appeared in 27 regular-season NHL games, all with Dallas, and has five points, including two power-play goals.

Dallas selected the 6-foot, 195-pound native of Toronto, Ontario, in the first round (13th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.

In 23 AHL games with Texas in 2021-22, Damiani, 21, has 18 points, 11 assists, and was second on the team with seven goals. In 8:13 of ice time against St. Louis on December 14, the forward made his NHL debut with Dallas, scoring a goal and adding four shots.

The 5-foot-10-inches, 170-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario, was selected by Dallas in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.

This season, Gardner, 25, has skated in 20 AHL contests with the farm team and has earned two points. He posted one shorthanded assist for his lone assist of the campaign and has logged 27 shots. Gardner has also registered two points in 36 career NHL regular-season games with Dallas, adding 60 hits and 13 blocked shots.

The 6-foot-3-inches, 210-pound native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, was selected by Dallas in the fourth round of the 2016 NHL Draft.
