Colony graduate Coleman tallies 3 RBI in Sooners’ rout over Iowa State

Former Colony softball standout Jayda Coleman is finding a way to contribute significantly in her freshman season at Oklahoma.

In a game against Iowa State, Coleman had three RBI for the Sooners in a 22-2 win. Top-ranked Oklahoma swept the series over Iowa State in a run-rule win, improving to 25-0.

Colony softball fans will recognize Jayda Coleman from her years of success at the school. She was the consensus No. 1 ranked prospect in the class of 2020 and was named the 2019-20 Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year. She won a state title with Colony.

Coleman also holds the state record for most runs scored and finished her high school career with 279 hits, 261 runs, a .702 batting average and 209 stolen bases. Coleman also contributed to the SBSC U-19 World Cup title victory for Team USA, hitting .435 with 10 hits, six runs, three RBI and five stolen bases.
