What began as a seat on the Heath City Council in 2011, has turned into a dedication of public service for the now representative, Justin Holland, who hopes his career will continue to prosper.
On May 16, Holland celebrated 10 years in public service by reminiscing on the fond memory of first being sworn in as a council member. He recalls the pride he felt after taking his first oath.
“Today marks a decade in public service for me. Ten years ago I was elected to the Heath City Council and it has been a wonderful experience to serve my city and my state. I’m particularly proud of this photo with my father and his siblings at our victory party in 2011. My dad got to see me sworn in as a council member before we lost him a few months later to cancer. Here’s to 10 more years,” Holland wrote on his Facebook.Â
Holland and his family are longtime Rockwall residents and have various ties to the city. He is a part of and supports organizations like Rockwall Rotary,  Sisters and Friends, Band of Brothers, Rockwall Helping Hands, Patriot Paws and the Folds of Honor Foundation, according to his biography. He also co-owns the largest independent real estate firm in Rockwall where he continues to be an active real estate broker.Â
“Justin served five years on the City of Heath City Council prior to his election to the Texas Legislature. He was duly elected and sworn into his first term in the Texas House of Representatives in 2017, the second term in 2019 and currently his third term in January of 2021. Justin was elected to the Texas Conservative Coalition Board of Directors at the beginning of the 87th Legislative session,” a statement read.
