Five men, some held on bonds exceeding $1 million, face a range of violent and sexual offense allegations in Collin County in recent weeks, according to the Collin County Sheriff’s App. Three of these men are reported to be aliens, as indicated by federal immigration detainers.
This edition of Dirty John ranks the county’s most serious recent bookings by total bond amount, based on data from the Collin County Sheriff’s Office. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Cruz is held on seven-figure total bonds following first-degree felony sex abuse charges involving a child under 14, as well as a federal immigration detainer.
Cruz appeared in a previous edition of Dirty John in October. At the time, he was only charged with Sexual Abuse of a Child Continuous: Victim Under 14 and Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and had the detainer lodged against him, DX reported. It is not immediately clear why he has been booked again or what possible charged the additional $500,000 bond is connected to.

Immigration detainers are not necessarily proof that someone in police custody is an illegal immigrant, although they can be used for illegal aliens in police custody.
